About Me

Deshaymond is a blind R&B artist, songwriter, producer, entrepreneur, author, and multimedia creator redefining what representation in entertainment looks like. As the founder and CEO of Deshaymond Media, he creates music, media, and storytelling centered around authenticity, culture, accessibility, and empowerment for marginalized communities.

After losing his sight in 2015 due to optic atrophy, Deshaymond transformed adversity into purpose, building a creative platform that blends soulful artistry, powerful storytelling, and advocacy. With more than a decade of corporate leadership experience at companies including ADP, Target, and Workday, he brings strategic vision and executive-level professionalism to every aspect of his artistry and business.

In 2024, Deshaymond released his critically acclaimed debut album I Am, introducing audiences to his emotionally rich vocals, vulnerable songwriting, and genre-blending sound. The project helped establish him as a rising independent voice in R&B and alternative soul. His single “Royalty,” featured in the Portraits and Portals art installation curated by Justice Shorter and Dr. Patricia Stukes, further highlighted his commitment to celebrating the resilience and humanity of disabled communities.

A proud Recording Academy Voting Member and member of the 2025 Recording Academy New Member Class, Deshaymond was also selected as a finalist and performer for the EDDIE Awards. His growing media presence includes appearances on Art’s Ably, Gary with the Tea, and Beyond Her Beauty Radio.

In 2026, Deshaymond successfully launched and completed the first season of The Deshaymond Show, an entertainment and culture platform spotlighting creators, entrepreneurs, and changemakers from marginalized communities. Combining interviews, music, commentary, and storytelling, the show quickly became an extension of his mission to uplift voices often overlooked in mainstream media. Season two premieres Fall 2026 with expanded conversations, performances, and cultural commentary.

Currently, Deshaymond is preparing for the release of his highly anticipated sophomore album and his debut novel in 2027, expanding his creative universe into both music and literary storytelling. Through every project, he remains committed to amplifying Black, LGBTQ+, and disability voices while encouraging others to embrace their truth, creativity, and purpose.

As Deshaymond often says: “I don’t just want to be heard—I want people to feel seen.”
